Command Centre
The Command Centre is the home to all of Benchmark Estimating Software’s major features. It allows you to start new projects, update your Libraries and generate business reports.

Projects Home
- With the Projects Tab you can Add a New Project, Browse all projects in your database or you can easily access Recent Projects.

Libraries Home
- Benchmark Estimating Software is a Library based system. You can store your standard activities and pricing data in secure Libraries to save re-entering information for every project.

Clients Home
- The Client Library allows you to keep a database of your clients for easy reference.
|
Marketing Home
- The Marketing feature allows you to generate graphs and reports on your market share (e.g. won/lost/pending).

Admin Home
- The Admin area allows administrators to configure functionality and defaults used throughout the Benchmark Estimating Software program.

Help Home
- Benchmark Estimating Software offers comprehensive technical support for the program. This can be accessed through the Help area.

Projects
Each estimate you do is stored as a Project in Benchmark Estimating Software’s database. The following screen shots give you an overview of the main screens an Estimator would work with each day.

Project Details
- From the Project Details window you can allocate a Quote No. or allow Benchmark Estimating Software to allocate it, you can also select your client from your client library and enter other Project information.

Project Sections
- Sections are high level headings for your project. They can be added from a Library, imported from a spreadsheet or entered manually to suit your Project. You can have one or many Sections depending on your Project’s complexity and / or how you may wish to present your estimate to your client.

Project Items
- To view Project Items, simply double click on a Section to drill down into it. You can then see the Items (of work) that make up that highlighted Section.

Project Items – Adding an Item from the Library
- Simply select Add Item from Library. Note: you can also Add New Items and use other tools for pricing like Allocate and Routines. When you add an Item From Library, Benchmark Estimating Software calculates for you your complete Labour, Materials, Plant and Subcontractor costs and updates your Project price.

Project Resources
- To drill down into an Item simply double click on your chosen Item. You can then see the Resources required to undertake this task. All of this detail can be quickly and easily edited to suit the site conditions.

Calculating Quantities
- The powerful Calculator is very easy to use, and it allows you to quickly and easily enter Calculations. This is ideal for Material quantities but can also be used to work out Labour hours.

Project Reports
- The Reports from Benchmark Estimating Software include internal estimate review reports, project management reports and exports to job costing and scheduling systems.

Quotes
- Extensive Quoting functionality including the popular “Word Template” feature allow you to produce very professional quotation/proposals to help you win more work.

Libraries
Benchmark Estimating Software is a Library based system. You can store your standard activities and pricing data in secure Libraries to save repetitive data entry tasks. Our Library system also helps you to improve the consistency, accuracy and speed of your estimating.

Section Library
- The Section Library is made up of the standard high level headings for your Project.

Item Library
- The Item Library stores the list of standard services you provide. Each Item contains a build up of Resources and can include standard production rates and notes/text. This Library is a key repository for your corporate knowledge.

Resource Library
- The Resource Library is a central list of your Labour, Plant, Material and Subcontract costs; these costs are the building blocks of your estimates.

Routines Library
- Routines are one of the most powerful features in Benchmark Estimating Software. Routines are suited to day-to-day Quotes through to more complicated Items in larger estimates. All Routines are stored in the Libraries area of Benchmark Estimating Software.

Marketing
Marketing allows users to view and update key Marketing data (e.g. won/lost) for all quotes quickly and easily in the one window, saving time and helping you to produce more accurate business reports.

Marketing Tools
- From the Marketing screen, you can generate numerous reports and divide them by parameters such as Region, Type of Client of Project Type.

Routines
- Routines are the ideal function for pricing repetitive tasks with many parameters. They provide the user with a list of Questions (like a checklist) and all the user needs to do is answer questions; Benchmark Estimating Software does the rest.

Quantity Takeoff Sheets
- Takeoff Sheets allow you to perform detailed Item quantity calculations. These sheets are in a spreadsheet format and can be based off standard sheets from a Library, or created on a project by project basis.

Progress Claims
- Progress Claims can be generated directly from your Benchmark Estimating Software estimate. You can enter your claim data by % or Quantity complete, and the system also incorporates Retentions and Variations.

Progress Claims Detail
- Entering claim data is easy and fast, there is no messy copying and pasting or time spent working on formulas in a spreadsheet.
