Building and Construction
Benchmark Estimating offers quantity takeoff and estimating solutions for the building and construction industry. Benchmark Estimating Software is suited to commercial companies operating in the general construction market, as well as subcontractors who specialise in areas like precast concrete, plumbing and formwork/scaffolding works.
You can estimate using resource based methods whilst maintaining the ease of use and flexibility that makes our software stand out from its competitors.
You can use On-Screen Takeoff (OST) to measure your construction takeoff data electronically and then import it into Benchmark Estimating Software, or import a bill of quantities issued to you by a client. Preparing a price within Benchmark Estimating Software is very easy, you can utilise your database of rates in your Item Library to save time and eliminate the chance of leaving things out of your estimates.
From Benchmark Estimating Software you can export your estimate data to spreadsheets, create a program in Microsoft Project, manage quotes from subcontractors and suppliers as well as create progress claims and price variations.
Key features for the Building and Construction industry
Quantity Measurement using On-Screen Takeoff
You can use On-Screen Takeoff software to quickly and accurately measure the works to be performed. Then the quantity data can be imported automatically into Benchmark Estimating Software using the Takeoff Integrator feature. The the user has the flexibility to use either the Allocate or Auto Allocate feature to bid using data from the Item Library so as to quickly create a price for the construction Project.
The easy integration between OST and Benchmark Estimating Software cuts down both your construction takeoff and overall estimating time meaning more cost effective project estimates.
Import/Export a Schedule of items
You can save time and eliminate typing errors by importing a schedule of items (bill of quantities) from a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet. Schedules that have been created in a BIM program such as Revit can also be imported. Additionally, Benchmark Estimating has developed an integration with the Vectorworks BIM so that, when a design has been produced in Vectorworks, a bill of quantities is created automatically in Benchmark Estimating Software.
After you have priced your construction Project you can save your submission rates directly into the original spreadsheet.
If you price many schedules of items from the same client where the standard schedule or specifications rarely change, then Auto Allocate is a must for your business. Auto Allocate can bid an entire construction estimate in minutes, by automatically pricing the Items in your estimate. This cuts down your estimating time dramatically and increases the consistency of your construction estimates.
The Subcontractor Manager will send an enquiry to Subcontractors, and then analyse and compare the received quotations in a comparison screen. Benchmark Estimating Software then automatically updates your construction estimate with your selected subcontractor’s prices saving you time and resulting in increased accuracy.
Automatically create a Program in Microsoft Project
Benchmark Estimating Software’s resource-based export to Microsoft Project automatically creates a gantt chart for your construction project. It will even export the Resources and cost data if required.
Progress Claims and Valuations
Benchmark Estimating Software allows you to generate Progress Claims and Valuations from your system. You have the option to produce your progress claims either by percentage or by quantity complete.
